We are committed to
totally natural goodness in all our handmade soaps
and bath essentials. Our
natural goodness commitment is as follows:
Essential
oils only!
All of our handmade soaps and body essentials are formulated to
include naturally good aroma!
We use essential oils only, that is
the oil extracted from plants usually by steam distillation producing an
aromatic essence of the plant.
No synthetic fragrances are ever used. Our soap artist is extremely
sensitive to them and we don’t think they’re good for you either.
Vegetable oils only!
We don’t incorporate animal fats in any of our
products. We use naturally
good vegetable oils in all our soaps and body essentials.
Our natural handmade soaps are made up of a minimum of 30% olive
oil, most of our recipes are comprised of 38% olive oil.
Whenever we reduce the olive oil it’s to add another naturally
good for you emollient like shea butter or cocoa butter.
Artistic
color expression!
We want our natural bath products to be pleasing on three sensory
levels. We want it to
appeal to your nose, your skin, and your eyes!
We make our natural handmade soaps and bath essentials visually
pleasing because it adds to the experience of using it.
It’s kind of like art for your shower.
But it smells good and feels good too.
So how to do we add color in a naturally good way? We don’t
ever use dyes. We use
clays and botanicals to create beautiful color.
Sometimes herbs and clays don’t provide the unique color appeal
our soap artist is looking for.
In that case, we sometimes use pigments in the form of
ultramarines and oxides.
Ultramarines and oxides are the only manmade ingredients we use, because
the natural – from the earth - form of ultramarines and oxides contain
harmful substances. When we do this we let you know, so you can easily
choose from among our 100% natural handmade soaps and our 99% natural
handmade soaps.
Handcrafted! Every
naturally good handmade soap or bathing essential is made from scratch,
that is, we start with wholesome good for you
natural raw ingredients and
finish with an all natural bath essential intended to nurture a unique
you. All of our natural
handmade soaps and bath essentials are created in small batches. Our
Soap Artist and Founder, Susanne Schlador, personally develops, creates,
and tests every recipe and every batch.
Sustainability! We are
committed to green principles.
Some of the ways that we do this are:
- In the production of all our handcrafted soaps and bath essentials we use natural raw ingredients (and secure organic when pricing allows) to create a biodegradable product.
- We design our product packaging with a minimalist approach and use recyclable materials.
- When shipping products we reuse whatever we can and also use recyclable materials.
- We grow herbs and botanicals to be incorporated in our products.
- We secure local suppliers whenever possible.
