About Lavande de Bois
Lavande de Bois is lavender of Boise. Actually, in French it means lavender of wood. When Lewis and Clark first saw the Boise Valley they named it Bois, compared to where they'd been, this valley had trees, lots of them.
Lavande de Bois grew out of my personal obsession for lavender. I love everything about lavender. From it's ability to thrive in adverse soil and water conditions, to the fresh herbaceous scent that emanates when you brush past a plant, to the incredible variety found in
this one genus, I am inspired by it all. Ever since I discovered my love for growing herbs and flowers I have grown lavender. We have a field of pasture grass that I have visualized for quite some time as a field of lavender reminiscent of those in France. The vision needed a purpose. I began a journey that led me to making handcrafted soap. Once I started creating soap and body essentials with lavender I could not limit myself to this one aroma. I started creating products with all the essential oils.
The field of lavender is in it's early stages. Recently we've added a small field of forty lavender plants to the existing twenty plants that are scattered throughout our landscape. We also grow and harvest herbs and flowers for use in on our products.
I personally invite you to experience the natural goodness of my soaps and body essentials. Each product that I put on my webstore, on a retailer's shelf, or at a craft show is personally tested on me, my family, and friends. I call it the total goodness test. If it's not totally good it doesn't leave the soap shop. You have my committment to totally natural goodness!
